Sheldon Myeroff of Chagrin Valley Custom Furniture takes you to a local Amish sawmill where logs that have been cut into slabs are air dried and kiln dried to remove the moisture from the wood. This helps prevent warping or cracking of the wood when used as tabletops for epoxy resin river tables. The slabs are air dried in large stacks. They are separated from each other by sticks. Air drying takes up to one year.
