We Work In Harmony With Nature

Is environmentally friendly furniture important to you? It is to us.

At CVCF, our goal is to create authentic custom wood furniture that is sourced, transported, and manufactured in the most efficient, least environmentally invasive manner possible.

It starts with sustainable timber harvesting. The timber for our tables and desks is cut in local forests by reputable logging companies who use best practices for the protection, restoration, and conservation of natural forests. Their goal is to harvest in a way that gives the forest the chance to regenerate while ensuring that its environmental health and the health of all its inhabitants is maintained, restored, and even enhanced. Our logging companies use highly skilled loggers who are trained to fell a tree without harming other trees, and remove the trees with minimal or no trace.

Once the epoxy is cured, it is non-toxic, won’t outgas, and is perfectly safe to touch, eat on, and place items on.

Using wood that is sourced locally also means less travel for big gas-guzzling trucks – and that means far fewer carbon emissions as the wood slabs move from the forest to our furniture workshop. Thankfully, Northeast Ohio is home to a rich diversity of hardwoods and pine including maple, oak, elm, hickory, walnut, cherry and white pine. The hardwoods are especially good for making our signature product – epoxy resin river tables.

At the shop, our goal is to create an environmentally safe and healthy environment for our team of woodworkers. We’ve installed air cleaners, vacuums, temperature control units, and other safety measures for this purpose. In addition, our 6,000 square foot furniture making production facility is kept in immaculate condition. Everyone, from the president to the epoxy pourers, all pitch in to keep the shop ship-shape. And that translates into a more eco-friendly operation.

We Stand By Eco-Friendly Furniture

Eco-friendly furniture made at our shop offers many benefits to the environment and to the consumer. Wood is the ideal sustainability material for furniture because it is renewable, stores carbon that reduces greenhouse gases, and is energy efficient. We make our furniture from 100% solid wood slabs – no chemical additives, no plywood, no veneer, no particle board and no other artificial substances that contain toxins. That means it’s great for your health and its production does not contribute to the human impact towards climate change.

You can also feel safe with the epoxy resins we use for our river tables. They are the best – and most expensive – brands available and are completely non-toxic when cured (when it dries into a solid and hard substance). Cured epoxy is safe to touch and to place items on. Finally, using high quality wood to make high quality furniture means your piece won’t be taking up space in a landfill anytime soon. It will certainly be a welcome fixture in your family for many generations to come.

CVCF is are doing our part to make this planet a green and healthy place to live for our children and our children’s children. We are also making it a little more beautiful with every table or desk we make.
